About Martin Narey

Since I stepped down from Barnardo's in early 2011 and alongside part time employment as a Board Member of the Advertising Standards Authority I have been commissioned by The Times to write a major report on adoption which was published as a special supplement in July. Simultaneously, and with the support of the Prime Minister, Michael Gove and Children's Minister Tim Loughton have asked me to take on the part time role of Ministerial Advisor on Adoption.

I also carry out consultancy work and speak regularly on the subject of leadership (largely to business audiences) drawing on my more than thirty years in management a period which included becoming the recipient of the Chartered Institute Of Management's gold medal for leadership, a single annual award. I was the first public sector recipient of this award for thirty years.
